Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege - Ubisoft

VA - Noor

I'm the ongoing voice actor for Noor, an operator hailing from Egypt, who was added to the roster of playable characters during Year 11, Season 3 (Operation Split Fire) of R6 Siege, developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. This game has over 100 million registered players worldwide!

Not only do I get to pay tribute to my Egyptian heritage and speak a bit of Arabic, as a huge fan of the Metal Gear series, I'm thrilled that I voiced a character in the same game as Solid Snake. Plus, I get to actually play the game as my own character! My inner child can't believe it.

You gotta understand, I grew up playing video games, and during my youth, I changed voice files in a couple computer games (i.e. Counter-Strike) with my own recorded performances. All this was prior to realizing I wanted to be an actor. I even played Siege before it was released, at a tournament held in Toronto. Simu Liu (yes the one who plays the Marvel superhero Shang-Chi and is in Avengers: Doomsday) and I got a few friends together and attended the competition. When asked to name our team, we somehow resorted to going through Harlequin romance book covers I've been on. Once we landed on "One Night with the Sheikh" by Kristi Gold, we all knew we found our name. Not only was that a book where I portrayed an Arabic speaking character, but then years later, I got hired to voice one in the game and have so much fun doing it! Talk about full circle.

Another fun fact is my brother and I both studied Computer Science so we could make our own video games. We dreamed of working together on one someday. Although after graduating, I quickly pivoted to acting while he not only perused game development, he actually worked on Siege prior to release up until Year 6. Although maybe not in the way we had imagined, we've now officially worked on the same game! Wondering if him working on the game had anything to do with me getting the part? Nope! My rep got me the audition and I was eventually offered the role after a callback. Only after we finished recording one of my later sessions did I tell the team that my brother worked on the game.

All this to say I'm incredibly grateful. Bringing life to Noor was exceptionally meaningful to me and a dream come true for so many reasons.

Finally, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention my father, who insisted that we learn Arabic as kids, despite growing up in Canada. شكرا يا بابا
